Preface

In 2006, the output, quantity of selling and the quantity of the order form of ship-building industry both of China and the world all got the tiptop in history. And our share arrived at 19%, 30% and 24%. The increment speed of the output of Chinese ship-building industry was slower in 2006, but the economic benefit of the industry jumped high. The profit of 2006 was higher than it of the 10th Five-year-plan period. The synthesis index of economic benefit arrived at 159 point, which had a improvement of 27 point. The income of main business for the whole big scale enterprises of China in 2006 was 156,000,000,000 Yuan, which increased 30% than last year. And the whole profit was 9,600,000,000 Yuan, which was 4,857,000,000 Yuan more than last year, twice of it in 2005. The profit of manufacturing enterprises was 5,328,000,000 Yuan, which increased 3,000,000,000 Yuan and was the 2.28 times than last year. And the enterprises of repairing and dismantling got profit of 2,633,000,000 Yuan, which increased 1,220,000,000 Yuan than last year. The profit of ship-fitting enterprises was 1,591,000,000 Yuan, which increased 619,000,000 Yuan.
The new foundation accepted a great deal of order form, which had the new characteristics, such as big model, huge batch and high tech. The new foundation of ship manufacturing which was in building, had get many order form. The whole carrying capacity exceeded 40 million tons. The number of order form of VLCC whose carrying capacity is 300,000 tons increased. And there was a breakthrough of the number of order form of sand ship whose capacity is 300,000 tons, TEU whose capacity is 10 thousand containers and the high-tech ship of ocean engineering. The export of ship broke 10 million tons, the carrying capacity arrived at 11.71 million tons, which increased 56% than last year. And the income from ship export broke through 8,000,000,000 dollars, arrived at 8,110,000,000 dollars, which increased 74%.
It forecasts that the ship-building industry would develop slower in 2007, but also have a success in a limited degree. The total carrying capacity of the ship would be sold will arrive 80 million tons. We might get less order form than 2006. But because of the enough signed order forms, the output of manufacturing enterprises will have a rapid progress, and the increase speed of profit would be above 50%. The supplies and demands of steel used for ship manufacturing would just meet each other, so the price will be stable in 2007. The industry risk may come from the appreciation of Renminbi and lack of the capability of producing the ship fittings.
